Recent media reports have emerged on video-recorded evidence of a member of the National Commission for Minorities, Mr. Harvendra Hanspal, pressuring Ms. Nirpreet Kaur (whose father had been brutally murdered in Nov. 1984 pogroms) to not testify against Mr. Sajjan Kumar, one of the prime accused in the Delhi pogroms as well as a former Member of Parliament and current member of Congress Party. In response, WSC-AR has appealed to the Indian Prime Minster to dismiss Mr. Hanspal.

A highlight of the parliament for the Sikh community was an International Sikh Consultation by WSC-AR convened as a formal parliament session to develop an international Sikh representative structure.
