World Sikh Council - America Region
Strongly Condemns Attack on America

On behalf of the Sikh Americans and 22-million strong Sikh Nation throughout the world, World Sikh Council - America Region expresses its deepest sorrow and sympathies with the victims and their families in the national tragedy that occurred yesterday in New York, Washington, D.C., and Pennsylvania. We condemn these acts of terrorism in the strongest words. Our hearts go out to the victims and their families.

As Sikh Americans we stand by our President George Bush and this great Nation in this period of national tragedy of monumental proportions. We are willing to help the victims in any way we can. The US law and enforcement agencies are working hard in identifying the culprits. We hope the guilty are found soon and punished accordingly for this heinous crime against humanity.

Sadly, we have received reports of attacks on the Sikhs as a mistaken identity in New York, New Jersey, Sacramento, San Jose and other cities in public places and schools. We ask our fellow Americans to use restraint and not show anger at the Sikhs or a particular minority community. We pray to the Almighty to grant peace to the departed souls and solace and strength to the families of the victims. God Bless America!

Sincerely,

Dr. Tarlochan Singh Secretary,
