In a true Panthic and democratic traditions, one-third of the WSC-AR committee members retire each year. Our Sincere Thanks to Five members of the WSC-AR Committee Who Retired Voluntarily last year.

Their services to the World Sikh Council - America Region and to the Panth are greatly appreciated. Please keep in mind that voluntarily retiring from the WSC-AR committee does not mean automatic resignation from the WSC-AR. The retiring members will complete their 3-year terms as the representatives of their respective Gurdwaras or Sikh Institution to WSC-AR as long as they continue to represent them as per rules.

Dr. Balwant Singh Appointed the New Vice Chairman

The World Sikh Council - America Region is very happy to announce that Dr. Balwant Singh (of Pascagoula, MS) has been appointed the vice chairman of the World Sikh Council - America Region. This position was vacated due to the voluntary resignation of Dr. Amarjit Singh of Buffalo. Dr. Balwant Singh is a senior member of the World Sikh Council and has been very active and helpful in the affairs of Khalsa Panth and WSC-AR. As you might know he played a key role in leading a peaceful protest march against the fake Nirankari chief Hardev Singh in Gretna, Louisiana on September 6, 2001. Dr. Balwant Singh is a retired teacher. He has taught in a college and high school in the US for many years and had a long and illustrious teaching career.
